Victoria's Secret will stage its annual Fashion Show on Sunday with 22 runway models, four celebrity musical acts and, for the first time, a beauty offering built to match the spectacle — including the brand's first-ever skin-care partnership.
The lingerie giant has spent years treating beauty as an afterthought on its biggest marketing stage. That changes this weekend.
"We have this unbelievable cultural event, really the biggest show on earth, all about fantasy and glamour and aspiration, but we didn't have anything to give her in beauty," Amy Kocourek, president of Victoria's Secret & PINK beauty, told Glossy.
Who is Amy Kocourek?
Kocourek joined Victoria's Secret in March of last year. She arrived after three years as chief merchandising officer at Kendra Scott, the Austin-based jewelry brand. Her résumé also lists an EVP role at Kohl's, 12 years at Gap, and executive positions at Hot Topic and American Eagle.
That is a mass-retail pedigree, not a prestige beauty one. It signals where Victoria's Secret plans to compete.
What does the show change for beauty?
The company did not detail the skin-care partner's name, the product lineup or pricing in the material released. It confirmed only that the partnership exists and that the show will promote it.
What the brand has disclosed:
- 22 runway models
- Four celebrity musical acts
- A restructured beauty approach tied to the event
- A first skin-care partnership in company history
Kocourek's framing is blunt. The show sells fantasy. Beauty, until now, sold nothing comparable. The gap between a global spectacle and an empty beauty counter is the problem she was hired to fix.
Why the silence matters
The claim of an "unbelievable cultural event" deserves scrutiny. The Fashion Show was cancelled in 2019 after years of declining ratings and mounting criticism of its format, and its returns since have drawn mixed reception. Kocourek calls it "the biggest show on earth" — a marketing claim, not a measured audience figure. No viewership numbers accompanied the announcement.
Likewise, the executive description of the beauty gap — "we didn't have anything to give her" — is an admission as much as a strategy. Victoria's Secret beauty has existed on shelves for years. What it lacked, in Kocourek's telling, was product worthy of the brand's marquee moment.
Whether the skin-care partnership closes that gap depends on details the company has not yet released: the partner's identity, distribution plans, ingredient stories and price points all remain unnamed.
What comes next
Sunday's show will serve as the public test. If the beauty expansion works, expect the skin-care partner named, priced and merchandised across Victoria's Secret's retail footprint in short order. If the show's cultural pull has faded, the partnership will launch into a far quieter room than "the biggest show on earth" suggests.
