  • Temple Oud Hair Perfume costs $54 and launches at cecred.com first, then ulta.com from September 17

Cécred has released the Temple Oud Hair Perfume, a $54 woody-floral mist that brings the signature olfactory accord from the brand's Foundation and Styling products into a standalone scent. The launch comes nearly a month to the date after Beyoncé and Cécred expanded their viral hair growth collection.

The fragrance, released today, is formulated for the hair chemistry of all hair types and can also be applied to the body for a long-lasting, cohesive scent.

"Temple Oud is that connection between past, present, and future, and honors the generational knowledge that sits at the core of our brand," Cécred vice chairwoman Tina Knowles says in a statement. "Temple Oud Hair Perfume gives people a new way to experience the fragrance beyond wash day and styling."

The scent combines notes of bergamot, jasmine, oud, Australian sandalwood, neroli, a spice blend, violet leaves, warm musk, and Haitian vetiver. According to the brand, the grounding composition aims to encourage a sense of calm.

The formula diffuses over time to enhance its sillage. Cécred recommends applying it to dry hair as a finishing touch. The antioxidant-rich mist can be layered with existing Cécred products or used on its own as a hair refresh.

Hair perfumes occupy a distinct technical category. According to experts, they are typically lighter than standard fragrances and contain conditioning or antistatic agents that make them more suitable for hair application. They also carry lower alcohol levels to prevent dryness and damage.

"I approach them as a delicate veil—something that brings movement, volume, and a soft trail," senior perfumer and Matière Première cofounder Aurélien Guichard previously told Bazaar.

Cécred's Temple Oud Hair Perfume is available exclusively at cecred.com for $54, and at ulta.com starting September 17.

The launch signals Cécred's push to extend its franchise beyond treatment and styling into fine fragrance territory—capitalizing on a scent identity customers already associate with wash day.
