Hailey Bieber and Gracie Abrams Ignite the 'Stardust Eyes' Trend
Hailey Bieber and Gracie Abrams launched the 'Stardust Eyes' trend — sheer silver lids, glowing skin, glossy lips. Emily Cheng built Abrams's SNL look entirely on Chanel Beauty.
Counter notes
- Harper's Bazaar named 'Stardust Eyes' after Hailey Bieber and Gracie Abrams wore the look around November 1
- Abrams wore the exact angel costume Claire Danes wore in the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet on SNL
- Makeup artist Emily Cheng used more than ten Chanel products, including Ombre Essentielle in 220 Blanc Perle
- Abrams is Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu ambassador

Hailey Bieber and Gracie Abrams have put "Stardust Eyes" — a wash of sheer silvery shadow across the lids and tear ducts — at the center of the post-Halloween beauty conversation. Harper's Bazaar editors named the look after both women wore it in recent days, with Abrams debuting it during her Saturday Night Live performance on the weekend of November 1.
The trend trades Halloween costume makeup for wearability. Its formula is fixed: glowing skin, flushed cherub cheeks, glossy lips, and silvery shimmer at the eyes. Bieber paired her version with a diffused nude lip and bright pink blush, according to Bazaar.
How Emily Cheng built Abrams's look
Abrams's take came from celebrity makeup artist Emily Cheng, working with Chanel Beauty. Cheng framed it around an effortless, no-makeup-makeup approach.
For the SNL stage, Abrams wore two Halloween-inspired outfits, opening with "Hit the Wall" in the exact angel costume actress Claire Danes wore in the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet.
Cheng's product list, as reported by Bazaar:
- Skin prep: Chanel Sublimage La Crème Texture Fine moisturizer and Sublimage La Crème Yeux eye cream to boost glow
- Base: Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation, layered with Serum Concealer in B20
- Highlight and sculpt: Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in the shade Sculpting
- Cheeks: Joues Contraste Powder Blush in shades 80 Jersey and 602 Rose Ruban
- Eyes: Stylo Yeux eyeliner and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette in Cool, topped with the pearlescent Ombre Essentielle powder in 220 Blanc Perle for what Bazaar called an "otherworldly finish"
- Lips: Le Crayon Lèvres liner in 162 Nude Brun, finished with Rouge Coco Hydra Gloss in shade 432 Cristal
Abrams fronts Chanel Beauty commercially — she is the brand's Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu ambassador, a fact that explains the full-Chanel kit behind the performance look.
What does this change for fall makeup?
The signal for brands and retailers is a shift from heavy Halloween glam toward sheer, luminous product. Stardust Eyes runs on pearlescent powders, cream glow sticks, and hydrating gloss rather than matte, high-pigment formulas — a demand profile that favors Chanel's Les Beiges and Sublimage lines but also any competitor with comparable shimmer SKUs.
Bazaar's editors expect the momentum to build: with peak holiday and party season approaching, they predict more elevated, shimmery beauty looks will populate For You Pages in the coming weeks. Two celebrity endorsements inside one weekend, one from a global beauty brand's ambassador on live television, give the trend a commercial runway through December.
