Hailey Bieber wore a custom-mixed chocolate brown manicure to the Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week, pairing the shade with a newly deepened brunette hair color.

Bieber, a Saint Laurent ambassador who has fronted multiple clothing and beauty campaigns for the house, attended the show in a sleek black suit. She skipped a matching black mani in favor of what her manicurist calls a true fall brown.

Manicurist Kim Truong, who works with Bieber regularly, said the Rhode founder asked for "a deep, dark rich brown color." Truong built the shade herself. She combined Chaun Legend Gel Polish in Knock on Wood, a dark brown, with a hint of the brand's Bite Me, a warmer, lighter brown.

The blend lands in the middle of the two: not so dark that it reads almost black, but a soft, melty chocolate. The polish work took place in Paris ahead of Bieber's run of European events.

The manicure follows a pattern. A few weeks ago, Bieber marked her anniversary in a soft taupe manicure — her second cozy, neutral color in a row, signaling an early pivot into sweater-season shades.

The nails also track a deliberate hair move. Bieber's color, done by her longtime colorist Matt Rez, now sits a few shades darker than it did over the summer. The manicure and the hair echo each other, a coordinated darkening that reads as a single seasonal shift rather than two separate changes.

Bieber is not alone in going darker. Ella Bright of "Off Campus" debuted a much darker hair color at the 2026 VMAs, and Dakota Johnson recently deepened her signature brunette.

For salons and nail brands, the takeaway is concrete: brown is moving on both hair and nails at once, and it is being driven by high-visibility celebrities at major fashion events. Custom mixing — Truong combined two existing Chaun Legend shades rather than using one off the shelf — also points to continued demand for bespoke color at the top of the market.

With Bieber anchoring the trend through Saint Laurent's Paris showcase and her own Rhode platform, expect chocolate brown and adjacent deep neutrals to carry through the season across both categories.
