Makeup artist Jo Baker has launched two special-edition Estée Lauder bundles, Sense and Sensibility, timed to the film's premiere on Friday. Each set arrives in a powder blue pouch chosen by Daisy Edgar-Jones herself.

"I always lean a little bit more sensibility," Baker told WWD, explaining her bias toward the warmer of the two sister personas. "Working with Daisy, who's a little sweet and young, I feel like I'm the mama bear that's like, 'Yeah, let's go for a little extra blush and a bit of feeling and mood and pigment in your look.'"

Baker did not simply name the collections after the film. She painted Edgar-Jones' face throughout the "Sense & Sensibility" press tour using the same products inside the assortments. The kits draw on Estée Lauder's hero franchise: Advanced Night Repair, Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation, Essential Eyeshadow Sticks, Futurist Blushmaker Dewy Cheek Tint Liquid Blush and Futurist HydraPlump Tinted Lip Balm.

What is inside each bundle?

Sense, described by Baker as "innocent" and "naive," mirrors Elinor Dashwood, the character Edgar-Jones plays in the adaptation premiering Friday.

  • Three eyeshadow sticks: Rose, Spritz, Latte
  • Two blush shades: Stolen Glance, Across the Dance Floor
  • One lip shade: Blush Renewal

Sensibility belongs to Marianne Dashwood, played by Esmé Creed-Miles and framed by Baker as the mature yet provocative sister.

  • Three eyeshadow sticks: Hazlenut, Sugar Plum, Espresso
  • Two blush shades: Elevator Smile, Skinny Dip
  • Two lip balms: Clove Cushion, Cherry Glow

The film constrained Edgar-Jones to a softer beauty register. The red carpet allowed more range. "We work very much in unison," Baker said of her collaboration with hairstylist Bryce Scarlett and stylist Dani Michelle.

How does the wardrobe drive the makeup?

"It always starts with what [Edgar-Jones] is wearing. Is it an archival piece? Is it fresh off the runway? Was this custom made for her? All of those things go into account when you're thinking about how we're building this look for the carpet," Baker said.

One recent example: an archival Chloé by Stella McCartney outfit from 1999. The piece carried personal weight for Baker. "It took me back to that kind of era that was my late teens in London. Stella McCartney designed that collection, and so I felt so close to it," she said, adding that she asked herself, "What was I wearing back then? What was I feeling?" and tried "to bring a little bit of that 'regressional' teen spirit forward."

Delicate wardrobe, ginger hair, two sister personas — the system is flexible enough to absorb all of it.

Which product should shoppers buy first?

Baker named her priority without hesitation: the Futurist Blushmaker cream tints. "I would like people to get into the beautiful cream blushes. I've been blending colors together. They give you the perfect, soft, bouncy, youthful, glowy look," she said.

She extended the endorsement across generations. "It doesn't matter what age you are, whether you're 15 or 75, those cream blushes will enhance any look this winter and fall, and just gives this beautiful bounce, which I die for," she said.

The bundles are available now, arriving as the film's Friday premiere turns the Dashwood sisters into a live beauty brief for the season.
