Julia Roberts, 58, debuted a "hot honey blonde" hair color on September 10 in New York, where photographers caught her at the opening of Moncler's Fifth Avenue flagship store.

The shade is a gilded, medium blonde that sits on the warmer side of the hair color spectrum without running brassy or copper. Like the peppered elixir it is named for, it features threads of color variation throughout, like ribbons of light, and a soft shadow root that creates dimension.

Roberts has a long history of scene-stealing hair moments, from her wild Pretty Woman waves to her recent signature feathered bangs. She has worn copper curls and warm chocolate tints with equal ease. Her latest transformation taps into the "hot honey blonde" trend that has circulated widely this summer.

She is not alone in the shade. Sarah Pidgeon shifted into it from her previously brightened blonde. Beyoncé and Blue Ivy have worn it too. Doja Cat opted for a sandier take on the look. Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid, longtime poster girls for the trend, refreshed their tones with tousled, bouncy blow-dries.

Hairstylist and forecaster Tom Smith previously described the color's appeal to ELLE: "Honey-wheat, neutral-warm, and expensive-looking yet seamless, this color is neither icy nor brassy. Somewhere between champagne and golden, it's hard to determine the exact highlight pattern or technique used because it blends so naturally."

The occasion for Roberts's debut carried its own news value. The Moncler store on Fifth Avenue marks the brand's largest global flagship, spread across two floors and designed by Gilles & Boissier. It houses Moncler's first made-to-order atelier, plus a New York-exclusive LoveFrom capsule collection.

With one of Hollywood's most bankable hair muses now wearing the shade as summer turns to fall, "hot honey blonde" has a strong case to remain a salon request well past the season that made it ubiquitous.
