A $75 leave-in mask beat every styling tool and shampoo in this year's Readers' Choice Awards for hair. The K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask took Favorite Hair Mask, and one reader did not hedge. "This is the best brand for my hair, does what it promises, and it's well worth the price! This is my favorite product for reviving my stressed-out strands," wrote Amanda M., 43, of South Carolina.
The full winners list spans 17 categories, with prices running from $10 to $449. It covers masks, scrubs, dry shampoo, supplements, tools, sprays, creams, oils and serums.
Tools: Dyson and Shark split the hardware
The Dyson Supersonic Nural Hair Dryer, at $449, won Favorite Blowdryer. "I have A LOT of hair! With this, I'm done before my arm starts hurting, and my bathroom doesn't get nearly as hot as other dryers I've used," wrote Stephanie E., 54, of Florida.
The Shark Beauty FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System, $350, took Favorite Hairstyling Tool. "I used to dread doing my hair until I got this! I now have salon-ready hair in 10 minutes. Game changer," wrote Simone G., 36, of New Jersey.
Budget picks held their own
The cheapest winner, TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray at $10, won Favorite Hairspray. "This hairspray is an excellent product that gives my hair such great hold!" wrote Kerry G., 47, of Florida. Rizos Curls Curl Defining Cream, $23, won Favorite Curl Cream. "This works wonders on my 3C hair. My curls are so defined and have great moisture!" wrote Tonya B., 44, of Louisiana.
amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo, $29, won Favorite Dry Shampoo. "It absorbs oil well without leaving a heavy white residue, and it adds nice volume at the roots without making my hair feel stiff or sticky," wrote Lannette K., 49, of Missouri.
Thinning hair drew two separate winners
Nutrafol Women, $88, took Favorite Supplement for Thinning Hair. "I noticed a difference in my hair's health and length, with less shedding and more baby hairs sprouting," wrote Carla N., 26, of North Carolina. On the topical side, Klorane Intense Strengthening Serum with Quinine, $33, won Favorite Scalp Serum for Thinning Hair. "This really helped my hair look and feel thicker after my crazy postpartum shedding," wrote Lucy M., 37, of Delaware.
Kérastase Densifique Bain Densité Shampoo, $46, won Favorite Shampoo. "Love this shampoo! It works as intended and has definitely helped improve my hair," wrote Sara M., 44, of Illinois.
Category specialists dominated styling
Winners in the styling categories each solved one specific problem. Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub, $54, won Favorite Scalp Scrub. "I enjoy the clean feeling this gives my scalp as a detox, and the volume it adds to my hair is fantastic!" wrote Holly U., 34, of Florida.
LolaVie Glossing Detangler, $29, won Favorite Detangler and doubled as heat protection for Jennifer V., 46, of Connecticut. Saints & Sinners Velvet Divine Leave-In Conditioner, $45, won Favorite Leave-In Conditioner; UNITE Hair 7SECONDS Anti-Frizz Thermo Mist, $35, won Favorite Frizz Fighter; Kerasilk Flyaway Wand, $24, won Favorite Flyaway Tamer; and IGK Best Interest Deep Repair Air Dry Styler, $38, won Favorite Air-Dry Styler.
OUAI Hair Oil, $32, closed out the list as Favorite Hair Oil. "I love the shine this product gives my hair! I've also noticed an improvement in its overall health since I started using it. I use it every day!" wrote Kailee M., 28, of Indiana.
The pattern across categories is clear: readers rewarded targeted single-benefit products at mid-range prices, and only two winners in the entire lineup cost more than $75.
