Models at Hodakova walked the Spring 2027 runway with eyeballs painted on their eyelids — the standout image of a season that pushed beauty toward the surreal.

The look read as "equal parts gorgeous and creepy" when the models blinked, according to the original report. It set the tone for a run of shows where makeup and hair moved past polish into deliberate strangeness.

Eyes go silver, pink and red

Silver eyeshadow emerged as one of Spring 2027's biggest trends. At Antonio Marras, it appeared brushed on in a painterly fashion. KidSuper doubled down, pairing silver eyes with glitter-embellished brows.

Pink eyeshadow, "hard to pull off," landed with an almost punky effect at Marques'Almeida. At Acne, cotton-candy-pink brows accentuated pink cheeks.

Matières Fécales brought Hollywood-level makeup effects to the runway. The all-red eye ranked among the most striking looks of the season.

At Harris Reed, a metallic blue-purple pigment ran from the models' foreheads down to their cheekbones and covered their ears. The effect was otherworldly — galactic, even.

Brows as canvas

Simone Rocha sent models out in beaded and embellished eyebrows. The report suggested it as "a look to consider next time you're between wax appointments."

Hair: creases, chops and porcelain

Area built hair around an intentional crease — the kind of bend a hot tool leaves by accident. On the runway it read as cool, graphic and artsy.

At Carven, a super-low knotted bun, one of the biggest hair trends of the season, came decorated with a Carven-branded pencil.

Collina Strada's faux hawks were built from bits of fabric, an effect that landed as both edgy and soft. Susan Fang put porcelain chunks in the hair. Di Petsa finished the look with a splash of white paint. Edeline Lee sent out a gravity-defying updo that would take "a can of hairspray (or 10)" to recreate.

Julie Kegels delivered two of the season's most confrontational looks: purposefully grown-out manicures — relatable, by runway standards — and ponytails that appeared lopped off, a trick of the eye the report called "shudder-inducing."

Lips, nails and faces

Burberry's Spring 2027 show surprised with a pastel, matte lilac lip, worn with a yellow blouse. Diesel brought back smudgy, just-made-out lipstick — partly because several models actually kissed during the show as part of the performance.

Dreaming Eli leaned ghostly and slightly Victorian-era vampiric, down to smoky marbled stiletto nails.

In Milan, Irina Shayk walked for the Attico wearing a faceful of faux piercings — the season's clearest signal that face jewelry, real or fake, is back in the fashion conversation.

What it means

The through-line of Spring 2027 is intentional imperfection: creased hair, smudged lips, grown-out nails, surreal painted eyes. Expect the trend's softer edges — silver shadow, pink brows, lilac lips — to filter into retail collections first, while the theatrical extremes stay on the runway.
