Rare Beauty launched a $50 limited-edition blush bundle fronted by Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, reuniting the childhood friends 18 years after their viral YouTube vlog. The campaign, called "Still Making Each Other Blush," went live on Instagram on Wednesday, October 28.
The set, named Delena: Soft Pinch Blush Bundle, pairs each star's favorite shade of Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. Gomez picked Hope, a nude mauve. Lovato chose Virtue, a beige peach. Both shades have a dewy finish, and the set ships with the Soft Pinch Blush Brush.
What does the campaign look like?
The launch reel, posted jointly by @rarebeauty and @ddlovato, channels 2008. The pair dance, laugh and sing into a hairbrush on a pink bedroom set, shot homemade-vlog style. "YO YO YO 🤭💗 18 years later, Delena is back with a vlog," the caption reads.
That caption nods to their 2008 YouTube video, which Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux famously parodied at the time. Sharp-eyed fans will also spot a notebook of "fan questions" signed with usernames Camp Rock viewers will recognize.
A second post goes full princess. Gomez wears a teal ruffled gown and tiara. Lovato wears a yellow gown and a crown. They perch on vintage suitcases in a shot that mirrors the poster of their 2009 Disney Channel movie, Princess Protection Program.
How deep does the friendship go?
The two met as kids on the set of Barney & Friends and became two of Disney Channel's biggest stars by the late 2000s. The duo has spent decades in each other's orbit, and the campaign leans on that history rather than disguising it.
"Selena and I have shared a lot of memories over the years since childhood, so being able to connect in this way, in a campaign that feels so nostalgic to both of us, is such a full-circle moment," Lovato said in a statement. "Being on set together felt like we were back in our old bedrooms making YouTube videos and playing with makeup."
Gomez kept her statement shorter. "The experiences I've shared with Demi are truly unique," she said. "Coming together for this campaign was a beautiful reminder of that history and a chance to celebrate who we are today. One and the same… always."
The move gives Rare Beauty something most celebrity brands cannot buy: a documented friendship with an archive of shared footage, parodies and fan lore stretching back to Barney. Limited edition, at $50, the bundle will not linger. Disney-era nostalgia remains one of beauty's most reliable sales engines, and Rare Beauty just activated two of its biggest franchises at once.
