French dermocosmetics brand La Rosée could change hands as early as year-end, according to industry sources, with both strategic buyers and investment funds circling the business. La Rosée executives could not immediately be reached for comment.

The sale talk lands in a category on a steep growth curve. Dermocosmetics is the fastest-growing segment within skin care, worth $54.41 billion today and projected to reach $80.29 billion by 2031 — an annual growth rate of 8.1 percent, according to Mordor Intelligence.

Who built La Rosée?

Coline Bertrand and Manhault de Guilbert, two pharmacist friends from university, launched La Rosée in 2015. The brand has since built a cult following in France and abroad.

"We wanted to create a brand with ultra-natural products – up to 100 percent of natural origin – eco-responsible and ultra-healthy, without controversial ingredients," Bertrand told WWD in a 2024 interview.

Universal appeal and accessible pricing were part of the plan from the outset. La Rosée's price points average 14 euros.

The brand launched with five products and now sells more than 40, spanning baby care and hair care. Its refillable deodorant and sun care stick are the top sellers.

How big is the business?

La Rosée yearly sales top 100 million euros, according to industry sources.

The brand's pharmacy footprint tells the growth story in numbers:

  • It launched in 300 French pharmacies and is now in upward of 9,500.
  • It ranks as the fourth bestselling dermocosmetics brand in French pharmacies.
  • It is present in 13 countries.

International expansion is driving part of the gains. La Rosée entered Canada earlier this year and now sits in more than 540 Shoppers Drug Mart stores there, backed by a Canadian e-commerce platform.

South Korea is the other stronghold. La Rosée has been present in the country since 2022, and industry sources say its Korean sales exceed 10 million euros.

Who owns it now?

FG Bros, the Belgian family office of Ségolène Frère and Ian Gallienne, acquired 20 percent of La Rosée in August 2023 in the brand's most recent funding round.

The company holds B Corp certification, and most of its packaging is made from plant-based ingredients such as sugarcane.

Why the timing matters

n La Rosée is not the only dermocosmetics asset drawing investors. Puig took a minority stake in French dermocosmetics brand Krème this July, in a funding round led by Iris Ventures. L'Oréal and Beiersdorf, meanwhile, keep accelerating their dermocosmetics activities.

With health, wellbeing and beauty converging, a 100-million-euro-plus brand ranked fourth in French pharmacies gives buyers a proven pharmacy channel and an international platform at once — a profile that rarely stays on the market long.
